Played by four players in fixed partnerships, this game utilizes a deck of 32 cards with eight cards from each suit. Points are allocated to specific cards, such as Jack (3 points), Nine (2 points), Ace (1 point), and Ten (1 point), resulting in a total of 28 points. In each round, teams must bid and set a target for themselves, aiming to achieve it successfully. The player who wins the bid has the privilege of setting the trump suit, influencing the course of the game in their favor. To prevent the bid-winning team from winning, the opposing team must strive to reach a score of 29 minus the bid amount. This distinctive element of gameplay serves as the origin for the game's name, '29'.</p>
